Rambam Uses Immunotherapy to Treat Rare Case of Pediatric Colon Cancer

Zakaria was diagnosed with metastatic colon cancer at age 16. When chemotherapy and surgery proved ineffectual, Rambam’s doctors discovered a gene mutation and switched to immunotherapy. Two years later, Zakaria no longer has cancer symptoms.

Multicultural Kidney Donor Chain Saves Lives at Rambam

Israel and Hanan, a Jewish man and an Arab woman who each needed kidney transplants, had waited for years for surgery. With the help of a kidney donor chain that also brings together Jews and Arabs, compatible donors were found and their lives were saved.

Rambam Establishing CAR T-cell Immunotherapy Service for Cancer Treatment

A cutting-edge immunotherapy treatment will soon be offered at Rambam Health Care Campus using genetically engineered T-cells to kill cancer cells. Rambam will be the first and only medical center in Northern Israel to provide this service.

Hospitalized Pediatric Patients Start the School Year in Rambam Classrooms

More than 100 hospitalized children and youth participated in classes on the first day of school in classrooms at Rambam’s Ruth Rappaport Children’s Hospital. Several new educational components are being introduced this year, including a sailing class for the older teens.

Corindus, Founded by Former Rambam Director Rafi Beyar, Has Been Acquired by Siemens Healthineers

Corindus Vascular Robotics is the latest successful initiative to come from Rambam Health Care Campus and the Technion. Earlier this year, Corindus’ technology was used to perform angioplasty and stent placement by a doctor sitting 32 kilometers from the patient.

Woman Undergoes Two Elbow Joint Replacement Surgeries at Rambam

Rambam Doctors Discover ADHD Can Be Relevant to Cognitive Decline

A scientific article written by Rambam Health Care Campus’ Cognitive Neurology Institute was recently the feature article in Harefuah ("Medicine"), the leading journal published by the Israeli Medical Association. The article addressed the topic of whether attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) should be considered in the diagnosis of cognitive complaints among middle-aged and older individuals.

New Rambam Service Customizes Cancer Treatment Needs for Young People

Thousands of young Israelis are diagnosed with cancer every year. However, in addition to dealing with a difficult illness, they also have to cope with unique, age-related needs. For the first time in Israel, Rambam Health Care Campus is operating a unique program that customizes cancer treatment for the needs of these young patients.

Rambam’s Pediatric Cancer Initiative Reduces Sedation during Radiotherapy

A program in Rambam Health Care Campus’ Ruth Rappaport Children’s Hospital is helping pediatric cancer patients undergo radiation therapy without sedation. This unique program receives funding from the Israel Children's Cancer Foundation (ICCF).
