The Pediatric Urology Clinic cares for congenital urological abnormalities such as hypospadias, reflux, kidney blockage, varicocele, hydrocele, and undescended testicle. The clinic performs all treatments for urologic pathologies in children including robotic surgery, laparoscopic surgery, preventive treatments, reconstructive surgery, and surgeries to repair congenital deformities. Deformities are first evaluated during pregnancy when they are identified via prenatal ultrasound. The clinic operates in close collaboration with the Imaging and Nuclear Medicine departments when sophisticated imaging techniques are required for diagnosis.
The clinic uses the most advanced technologies available such as deflux injections to correct reflux, laser surgery for posterior valve ablation and breaking up kidney, ureteral and bladder stones.
The clinic has participated in a number of pediatric urology studies, including a study on testicular infections in children before adolescence.
