2021 Awardees
The 2021 Youdim Family Prize for Excellence in Cancer Research has been presented to Professor Ravid Straussman, MD, PhD from the Department of Molcecular Biology at the Weizmann Institute of Science.
There are two awardees for the new PhD Student Cancer Research prize:
Gilad Goldhirsh, PhD Student (Direct Track) in Medical Sciences, the Rappaport Technion Integrated Cancer Center (R-TICC), The Ruth & Bruce Rappaport Faculty of Medicine, Technion–Israel Institute of Technology, under the supervision of Professor Aaron Ciechanover.
Nimrod Rappoport, PhD Student (direct track) in Computer Science, Tel Aviv University, under the supervision of Professor Ron Shamir.
2020 Awardee
The 2020 Youdim Family Prize for Excellence in Cancer Research has been presented to Professor Ronit Satchi-Fainaro, PhD, for her outstanding research project: Designing precision nanomedicines to diagnose excise, and treat cancer in three dimensions.
Professor Satchi-Fainaro is Head of the Cancer Research and Nanomedicine Laboratory; the Kurt and Herman Lion Chair in Nanosciences and Nanotechnologies; and Director, Cancer Biology Research Center in the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology of Sackler Faculty of Medicine and the Sagol School of Neuroscience, Tel Aviv University.
2017 Awardees
The 2017 Youdim Family Prize for Excellence in Cancer Research has been presented to two awardees for their outstanding research projects:
Professor Ziv Gil, MD PhD, Director, Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, the Head and Neck Center, and Head of the Applied Cancer Research Laboratory, Clinical Research Institute at Rambam Health Care Campus.
Associate Professor Rami Aqeilan, PhD, Chair, Division of Cell Biology, Immunology & Cancer Research, Hebrew University - Hadassah Medical School.
2016 Awardee
The 2016 recipient of the Youdim Family Prize for Excellence in Cancer Research is Professor Yardena Samuels, incumbent of the Knell Family Professional Chair, Department of Molecular Cell Biology, the Weizmann Institute, Rehovot Israel. An additional special prize was awarded to Professor Ido Wolf, of the Oncology Division, Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center, Tel Aviv, Israel.
2015 Awardee
The 2015 recipient of the Youdim Family Prize for Excellence in Cancer Research is Professor Benjamin Dekel, MD, PhD, Director of Pediatric Nephrology and Head of the Pediatric Stem Cell Research Institute, Edmond and Lily Children’s Hospital, Chaim Sheba Medical Center and Associate Professor of Pediatrics, Human Genetics and Cellular Biochemistry at the Sackler School of Medicine, Tel Aviv University.
2014 Awardee
The 2014 recipient of the Youdim Family Prize for Excellence in Cancer Research is Professor Yuval Shaked, PhD of the Department of Molecular Pharmacology of the Ruth & Bruce Rappaport Faculty of Medicine, Technion-IIT, Haifa.
2013 Awardee
The 2013 recipient of the Youdim Family Prize for Excellence in Cancer Research is Professor Eli Pikarsky, MD, PhD of Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem.
