Gastroenterology Institute

The Gastroenterology Institute at Rambam Health Care Campus diagnoses, treats, and monitors patients with diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and liver as well as those who suffer from inflammatory bowel diseases. The institute provides a range of invasive and non-invasive therapeutic tests as well as various types of endoscopic tests to diagnose, treat, and prevent diseases of the upper and lower intestinal tracts, bile ducts, and pancreas. The institute is considered a world leader in its field and collaborates extensively in the framework of international multi-center studies for new and experimental drug treatments. The institute physicians helped develop the revolutionary PillCam™ (Given Imaging) video-capsules for examining the small intestinal tract, as well as for the esophagus and colon, and were the first in Israel to use them.​
