Firefighter Breaks Record for Donating Platelets: 102 Donations Saving More Than 500 Lives

It is now eight years since Ofer Lavi began donating blood platelets and plasma at Rambam Health Care Campus for cancer patients, trauma victims, and premature babies. Recently, after 102 plasma donations, he realized that ‘102’ is also the emergency telephone number for Fire and Rescue Services.

Israeli First: Unique Caregivers Training Program Launched at Rambam Health Care Campus

Rambam Health Care Campus is offering a unique training program for the caregivers of young oncology patients in collaboration with the “Halasartan” Project and the Israel Cancer Association. This course is the first of its kind in Israel.

Rambam Helps Perform ECG on Special Needs Child

A doctor in one of Northern Israel’s community health clinics was at a loss. How was he going to perform an ECG on this energetic and restless four-and-a-half-year-old child who was on the spectrum? After consulting with specialists, the ECG was successfully performed in the Ruth Rappaport Children’s Hospital at Rambam Health Care Campus.

Like a Movie Scene: Heroic Action of Rambam Physician Saves Preborn Baby

While being rushed to surgery for a C-section at Rambam Health Care Campus, Ella Vinon Hasid’s baby began to exit the birth canal. The baby’s life hung in the balance due to a rare umbilical cord prolapse. Dr. Nadir Ghanem’s resourcefulness restored the baby into the uterus with a swift action that bought precious moments and saved the baby’s life.

Rambam HCC and McGill University: Fibromyalgia Pain is in the Gut

A new study conducted by Rambam HCC and McGill University scientists has found changes in women’s blood bile acids that are associated to the gut microbiome. Their research could provide a new molecular methodology for diagnosing fibromyalgia.
