“Young Interns”: Children of Medical Staff Spend a Day in Rambam's Operating Rooms

Children of surgical team members at Rambam Health Care Campus were given a unique and exciting opportunity to experience their parents' complicated work days. They got to try out working with different medical devices, and even enjoyed a little “screen time.”

First in Northern Israel: A New Service for Diagnosis and Treatment of Pediatric Liver Diseases

Leading the new service will be Professor Ronen Arnon, an internationally recognized pediatric liver disease specialist who recently joined Rambam Health Care Campus as a senior physician and Head of the Pediatric Liver, Gastroenterology and Pediatric Nutrition Institute in Ruth Rappaport Children’s Hospital.

Dealing with Dad’s Cancer: 10-year-old Cuts Father’s Hair Before Treatment

David Malka, an IDF veteran suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) following the Second Lebanon War, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer exactly 15 years after the battle in Lebanon. He was looking for ways to strengthen his youngest child, who also had to deal with his father’s illness.

Toys, Warm Clothes, and Lots of Love: Rambam Employees Donate to Refugees from Ukraine

Rambam Health Care Campus is sending help to refugees from the war in Ukraine. The donations are sent to the Haifa absorption center which then distributes the aide to the refugees. This is the second donation to leave Rambam for this important cause.

The conference was the first event held by the newly established Technion-Rambam Center for Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare. MIT Professor Leo Anthony Celi addressed the conference on the topic of ensuring that machine learning for healthcare works for everyone.

Fastest in the North, in Israel, and Worldwide: Lung Cancer Diagnosis at Rambam

Rambam Health Care Campus recently opened a center for rapid lung cancer diagnosis, shortening the diagnostic process for patients suspected of having lung cancer to just 14 days from the patient’s first appointment until treatment begins. Until now, the average length of time for this process in Israel is three to six months, and in the US, the average is six months. This new center is the first facility of its kind in Israel.
