David Malka, an IDF veteran suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) following the Second Lebanon War, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer exactly 15 years after the battle in Lebanon. He was looking for ways to strengthen his youngest child, who also had to deal with his father’s illness.

In Israel, the days leading up to Purim are filled with merriment, and many of the staff members and patients at Rambam Health Care Campus were happy to join in the fun! Festivities have been held across the campus, and some of the highlights are below.

Rambam’s Trauma and Emergency Center, managed by Director Dr. Hany Bahouth, is one of the busiest trauma centers in Israel.

The Spiritual Care Service at Rambam Health Care Campus is designed to meet the spiritual, emotional and religious needs of all patients and their families. Acquiring an understanding of a patient's social, emotional, and spiritual needs (including religious beliefs), forging a connection with the patient, and making arrangements to meet these needs are all intrinsic to the treatment process.

The Yemin Saad Association has close to 300 volunteers, and carries out a variety of activities throughout the year, including vacations and fun days for sick children and their families, flights over Israel, fulfillment of wishes and requests, and even meetings between children and celebrities.

Ahmed Bakri caught COVID-19 and was connected to an ECMO device at Rambam Health Care Campus after his condition deteriorated. In an attempt to improve his mood, the staff of the Medical Intensive Care Unit Established by a Donation from the Edmond De Rothschild Foundation (Israel) came up with a special idea.
