Good News from Rambam: Fewer Older Women Requiring Treatment for Severe Heart Attacks

Over the past 10 years, there has been a significant drop in the number of women coming to Rambam's Department of Emergency Medicine for serious heart attacks, according to data collected in the hospital and published during the National Heart Disease Awareness Campaign, which was observed last week throughout Israel.

Two-year-old Born with Rare Illness Celebrates Birthday with Staff

From the day she was born, the staff at Ruth Rappaport Children’s Hospital has accompanied little Shiri Eshet, due to the rare illness from which she suffers. Shiri recently celebrated her second birthday together with her parents and her extended family from the hospital.

World AIDS Day 2019: A Decrease in the Number of New Patients at Rambam’s AIDS Institute

World AIDS Day is being marked today, Sunday, December 1, 2019, worldwide. At Rambam Health Care Campus’s Allergy, Clinical Immunology, and AIDS Institute, this year's data shows a decline in the number of new patients admitted during 2019, following several years of a mainly upward trend. This data brings the Institute into alignment with the current world trends in recent years.

Advanced Robotic System in Rambam Pharmacy Improves Efficiency

Rambam Health Care Campus has started to use an advanced robotic system in its pharmacy. One of the most advanced of its kind on the market, the system is used to store and deliver tens of thousands of medications throughout the hospital, representing marked savings in time and increased efficiency.

Around the World: Rambam Strengthen Ties with India, Brazil, and NATO

Within a few days of each other, Rambam hosted leading medical professionals from India, a diplomatic delegation from Brazil headed by its president’s son, and NATO military personnel in a training drill for emergency evacuation to a large hospital. Although the guests came from many different countries, learning about trauma care was the common denominator of each visit.

A dedication ceremony was held at Rambam Health Care Campus for the Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein Z”L Shock Trauma Room, honoring the memory of Rabbi Eckstein, founder of the International Fellowship for Christians and Jews (IFCJ). As a dear friend and supporter of Rambam, Rabbi Eckstein supported establishment of the Sammy Ofer Fortified Underground Emergency Hospital and its Fortified Command Center.

Rambam Participates in Nationwide Initiative to Distribute Free Popsicles to Cancer Patients

Little Gifts, the brainchild of entrepreneur Elad Boker, was created in memory of Boker’s father to help alleviate the suffering of cancer patients by making popsicles available in oncology wards across the country, including in the Joseph Fishman Oncology Center at Rambam Health Care Campus.

Rambam’s Art Therapy Room Helps Children Cope with Cancer Treatment

Art therapy in the Joan & Sanford Weil Division of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology can last for a month, six months, or even longer. The length of time depends on the level of cooperation, the child’s diagnosis, and how long they’re hospitalized.

Rambam Uses Immunotherapy to Treat Rare Case of Pediatric Colon Cancer

Zakaria was diagnosed with metastatic colon cancer at age 16. When chemotherapy and surgery proved ineffectual, Rambam’s doctors discovered a gene mutation and switched to immunotherapy. Two years later, Zakaria no longer has cancer symptoms.

Israel and Hanan, a Jewish man and an Arab woman who each needed kidney transplants, had waited for years for surgery. With the help of a kidney donor chain that also brings together Jews and Arabs, compatible donors were found and their lives were saved.

Rambam Establishing CAR T-cell Immunotherapy Service for Cancer Treatment

A cutting-edge immunotherapy treatment will soon be offered at Rambam Health Care Campus using genetically engineered T-cells to kill cancer cells. Rambam will be the first and only medical center in Northern Israel to provide this service.
