Just in Time: Woman Gives Birth as Brother Returns from Gaza

Efrat Kobi was already past her due date and showed no signs of progress, but one phone call from her brother announcing his return home from months of fighting in Gaza hastened the birth, and within a few hours, the baby arrived.

Aiming for 100%: 96% of Rambam’s Nurses Hold Academic Degrees

Thanks to the generosity of international friends, scholarships from two programs were recently presented to 23 Rambam nurses, enabling them to advance their studies and specialize in various medical disciplines. In part due to these scholarship programs, 96% of Rambam nurses hold academic degrees.

Menashe Eisner, 63, is a lucky man. After a heart attack and multi-system failure, his heart stopped and he “died.” Thanks to an advanced life-saving intervention at Rambam Health Care Campus (Rambam) in Haifa, Israel, Eisner was miraculously discharged home 40 days later.

Nurse Evacuated from Kibbutz Nahal Oz Continues Saving Lives at Rambam

Life has been turned upside down for survivors of the Hamas massacre. One such person is a nurse, Zohara Koval, whose home in kibbutz Nahal Oz was targeted by Hamas. She and the other survivors were evacuated to the north of the country, preventing her from reporting for duty. However, Koval remains determined to save lives, for now, at Rambam Health Care Campus (Rambam) in Haifa, Israel.

Hila Costacurta lives her life between two places, in Stockholm, Sweden with her partner Marius of nine years and here in Israel with the rest of her family. We Came to Banish the Darkness: Candle Lighting at Rambam

The staff of Rambam Health Care Campus (Rambam) in Haifa, Israel, gathered in the main hospital building, the Sammy Ofer Tower, today for the ceremonial lighting of the Hanukka candelabra for the festival’s fifth day. This year’s ceremony was unlike those of years past, as the country is still shrouded in the darkness of the tragedy of October 7 and the ongoing war. Rachel Tzarfati mother of Ofir z”l and Yelena Shmeklov mother of Alexei z”l, both victims of the massacre, participated in the candle lighting ceremony. Today’s message was clear: Let us bring light from the darkness.

Rambam Trains Nurses and Volunteers for an Unprecedented Number of Trauma Injuries

Should the conflict on Israel’s northern border escalate, Rambam Health Care Campus (Rambam) in Haifa, Israel, the only level-one trauma center in the region, could see an unprecedented number of trauma patients.  Nurses from every hospital department will need to cope with a continuous flow of hundreds of new patients.  Ongoing training sessions are equipping our nurses and volunteers with these specialized skills.

New Development of “Smart” Heat Patch: Saving Lives in the Battlefield

Lee Shahaf, an occupational therapist at Rambam Health Care Campus (Rambam) in Haifa, Israel, has been serving as a casualty officer since she was called up for reserves at the beginning of the war. Now her role at Rambam is two-fold: volunteering as a bone-marrow donor and, most notably, becoming a lifesaving match for a woman in need.

With three sons and a son-in-law also serving, perhaps it should not have been such a surprise when he crossed paths with one of his sons in the fighting.
