The Rambam Award for the year 2011 is granted to the Hon. Mrs. Laura Wolfson Townsley in honor of her being the Chair of the Wolfson Family Charitable Trust. The strong commitment of her father to philanthropy was handed down to this wonderful daughter who is dedicated to meeting the pressing needs of the State of Israel.
Generous grants provided by the Wolfson Family Charitable Trust have enabled youth activities, medical research and medical, scientific, and technological education. We are grateful for the Hon. Mrs. Wolfson's endeavors in the State of Israel to bolster excellence in the sciences and humanities through her support of universities and hospitals.
Her substantial contributions have illuminated the world. Here, at Rambam Health Care Campus, we are indebted to the Hon. Mrs. Wolfson for enabling the establishment of our cutting-edge cardiac catheterization laboratory in the Department of Cardiology. The Wolfson Family Charitable Trust provided us with the needed funds tom purchase our MRI imaging equipment.
A substantial contribution from the Hon. Mrs. Wolfson, through the trust, enabled Rambam's purchase of the da Vinci Surgical Robot. Leadingedge surgery carried out with the robot.
