Dr. Eshel A. Nir is a pediatric anesthesiologist and attending physician in the Department of Anesthesiology at the Rambam Health Care Campus. He received his MD from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (2005) whilst completing an MSc degree in Physiology (2003). After honorable discharge from medical military service and postgraduate research in the United States, he completed a residency in Anesthesiology and Critical Care at Hadassah Hebrew University Medical Center (HHUMC) Ein-Karem, Jerusalem and was certified as a Diplomate of the European Society of Anaesthesiology (2019). He completed a Certificate in Genomics and Medical Bioinformatics at Bar-Ilan University (2016-2017) and a one-year fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesiology at Shaare Zedek Medical Center, Jerusalem (2020).
Dr. Nir worked as an attending phycisian at HHUMC and at the Kaplan Medical Center in Rehovot as a pediatric anesthesiologist, attending and Clinical Lecturer of the Hebrew University. As a Clinical Instructor and Lecturer, he actively engaged in teaching medical students and residents. In the summer of 2022 he graduated from a second fellowship in Pediatric Regional Anesthesia at Boston Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Nir joined the Department of Anesthesiology at Rambam as an attending in November 2022. His activities at Rambam include anesthetizing children for orthopedic, urological, surgical, plastics, and otorhinolaryngological procedures. His major interests are Pediatric Regional Anesthesia, Pediatric Intensive Care, Pediatric Sedation, Bio-Informatics, and Anesthesia Education.
