Rambam Health Care Campus is proud and honored to bestow the 2018 Rambam Award upon Mr. Adam 0. Emmerich in recognition of his exceptional legal and business acumen, dedicated philanthropic endeavors as a lay leader in the Jewish community, inspiring leadership of American Friends of Rambam, and his commitment to Rambam Health Care Campus.

Born and raised in New York, Mr. Emmerich grew up with the stories and inspiration of the DC comic book heroes-particularly Superman. Clearly, truth, justice, and the "American Way," along with a philosophical perspective and intuitive creativity have permeated his career. After graduating from the University of Chicago School of Law with honors, he served as a law clerk to Judge Abner J. Mikva, of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. His admiration for Wachtel I Lipton led to an impromptu request for an interview. He joined the firm in 1986 and was named a partner only 5 years later. The rest is history.

Mr. Emmerich is recognized as one of America's 500 leading lawyers, with the nickname, "The Dealmaker," and Chambers Guide to the World's Leading Lawyers lists him as one of the world's leaders in mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Emmerich brings the same strengths of his profession to his contributions to the Jewish community. He has been recognized by the American Jewish Committee and has served on a number of boards and committees supporting Jewish and Israeli education and culture, including the Ramaz School and the UJA-Federation in New York.

Today he serves on the board of the American Friends of the Israel Museum, is president of the Friends of the Israel Antiquities Authority, and is the President of the American Friends of Rambam Medical Center. In this latter role, Mr. Emmerich has had an inestimable impact on the Health lives of the people of Northern Israel.

A man of vision, commitment, and action, Mr. Emmerich's example is inspiring the world of jurisprudence, the Jewish community that he so selflessly serves, and the leadership of friends of Rambam Health Care Campus.

In acknowledgement of all the aforesaid, the Honorary Awards Committee has found Mr. Adam 0. Emmerich deserving of the 2018 Rambam Award.
