Professor Irit Ben Aharon, director of the Oncology Division at the Joseph Fishman Oncology Center at Rambam Health Care Campus (Rambam) in Haifa, Israel has been appointed editor-in-chief of the ESMO Gastrointestinal Oncology journal, a peer reviewed, open access journal.
The European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) which represents more than 25,000 specialist oncologists from 160 countries has launched the ESMO Gastrointestinal Oncology Journal, an internationally acclaimed oncology journal. The journal publishes high quality research on all aspects of diagnosis, treatment, and understanding of gastrointestinal cancers.
Professor Ben Aharon, a world leader in her field, will head the journal together with her German colleague, Professor Florian Lordick, president of the International Gastric Cancer Association, director of the Cancer Center at Leipzig University in Germany, and the author of more than 350 scientific papers.
“As an Israeli, I am proud and excited to accept this appointment, which reinforces our place at the forefront of the international stage of cancer research, innovation, and treatment,” Professor Ben Aharon shares.
