Two specialist nurses from Rambam Health Care Campus (Rambam) in Haifa, Israel traveled to North Macedonia today as part of a national humanitarian delegation responding to Sunday’s devastating nightclub fire.

Today, March 18, 2025, an Israeli humanitarian delegation was dispatched to the city of Kočani, in North Macedonia, following a tragic fire there. The delegation included medical experts from throughout the country. Among them were two burn care nurses, Yara Halabi and Romeo Maroon, from Rambam’s Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
The fire broke out early Sunday morning and claimed numerous lives. Dozens were injured with varying degrees of severity.
The Israeli aid delegation, led by Dr. Ram Sagi of the hospital division of the Ministry of Health, included specialists in burns, intensive care, and orthopedics, and nursing teams.
As Northern Israel’s only Level-1 Trauma Center, Rambam has extensive experience in disaster and trauma care, providing critical aid to victims of mass casualty incidents worldwide.
