Rambam Receives Lebanon War Medal in Recognition of Service During and After Wars
Rambam Health Care Campus was recently recognized for its treatment of wounded IDF soldiers brought back from the Southern Lebanon security zone.

Recently at Northern Israel’s "Tel-Hai Courtyard", Rambam Health Care Campus was awarded the Lebanon War Medal for Civilian Organizations by Israel’s Minister of Defense Lt. Col. (Res.) Benny Gantz and the Director General of the Ministry of Defense, Maj. Gen. (Res.) Amir Eshel. The medal, which was received by Rambam General Director Dr. Michael Halberthal, is considered a great honor and marks the tremendous gratitude for Rambam following the hospital’s activities while Israeli forces served in the Southern Lebanon security zone, established by Israel in 1985 at the end of the First Lebanon War.
In sharing the news with all hospital employees, Dr. Halberthal wrote the following words:

“The event was very moving and reminded me of those years when we would see ambulances gather by our landing pad to transport wounded soldiers arriving by helicopter for treatment at Rambam.
I remember these incidents from two angles – as a doctor who was a member of the trauma team, and as a helicopter doctor involved in dozens of evacuations, where upon landing at Rambam, I would see the landing pad, crowded with staff and patients looking concerned and worried about what the arrival of each helicopter would bring.
Rambam was and will continue to be the medical anchor of the northern region of the State of Israel in times of both peace and war for every person who comes through its gates, and, in an impressive ceremony in which Rambam received high honor from all speakers, I received the medal with abundant pride, on behalf of the Rambam family.
This medal is for every single one of you.” |
