Background
For many stroke patients, there is a brief window of opportunity to provide crucial treatment and avoid a life of disability and unnecessary death. Neurology and emergency department nurses are on the frontlines of treating these stroke patients, and one of the most important tools in the arsenal of treatment is the use of imaging modalities.
Goals of the Course
To provide the nursing staff in the emergency department and in the neurology service with basic knowledge of the subject of neuroradiology.
Duration of the course: 2 concentrated days

- Imaging examinations
- Coordinating imaging with the type of cerebrovascular event
- Anatomy and physiology of the neurological system based on radiology
- CT of the brain—types of examination
- Dealing with the side effects of contrast materials used in radiological examinations
- Indications for the use of MRI
- Indications for the use of Doppler
- Round table discussion of case studies using images
This course is intended for:
Certified nurses working in emergency departments, neurology, neuroradiology, and intensive care units.
