Professor Daniella Magen is the director of the Division of Pediatrics and of the Pediatric Nephrology Institute at Rambam Health Care Campus.
After graduating with honors from the Ruth and Bruce Rappaport Faculty of Medicine of the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, Professor Magen received her clinical training in pediatrics and pediatric nephrology at Rambam. After participating in the establishment of Rambam’s Pediatric Nephrology Center in 1997, she completed a postdoctoral fellowship in molecular genetics at the Laboratory of Molecular Medicine in the Technion’s Rappaport Research Institute, followed by a Visiting-professor fellowship in the Division of Biology of Stanford University, California, USA.

Professor Magen holds an academic appointment of Clinical Associate Professor in the Technion’s Faculty of Medicine and is a member of the Institutional Review Board (Helsinki Committee). She was awarded several prizes, honors and grants, including: exceptional employee award by Rambam Health Care Campus, outstanding lecturer award by the Technion Medical Students Association, the Legacy Heritage (Morasha) Research Grant for clinician-scientists by the Israel Science Foundation, and the Haim Boichis Award for outstanding research in pediatrics by the Israeli Pediatric Association. In  2011 she was appointed a visiting professor at Stanford University School of Medicine as part of the Feldman Family Foundation program.

Professor Magen's research is aimed at exploring the molecular basis of hereditary kidney and metabolic disorders among consanguineous ethnic groups in the north of Israel, with a special focus on inherited renal tubulopathies.
