Rambam Health Care Campus is honored and proud to confer the Rambam Award for the Year 2012 upon Mr. Sanford I. Weill and Ms. Joan H. Weill in recognition of their business prowess, financial leadership, extraordinary public service, and philanthropy, and in acknowledgement of their support of the Hematology- Oncology Department at Rambam and their commitment to building bridges of peace between Israel and its Arab neighbors through medicine, thereby helping to advance coexistence in this country.
Their philanthropic gifts to healthcare, education, music and the arts support a number of organizations, including: Weill Cornell Medical College, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Carnegie Hall, the National Academy Foundation and Weill Hall, Lawn & Commons at the Green Music Center at Sonoma State University. Joan and Sanford Weill are true givers, and their commitment and dedication epitomize the best in human character.
With special gratitude, we honor Sanford and Joan Weill for their efforts on behalf of Rambam Health Care Campus, manifested in theirmagnanimous donation to the Sanford I. and Joan H. Weill Department of Hematology-Oncology and the Israeli- Palestinian Friendship Center.
On the basis of all the aforementioned, the Nomination Committee has found Ms. Joan H. Weill and Mr. Sanford I. Weill eligible for the 2012 Rambam Award.
