On two consecutive days, two delegations of Brazilian dignitaries and community leaders, visited Rambam Health Care Campus (Rambam) in Haifa, Israel. Hospital collaborations, strategic partnerships, and new friendships were cemented. The future of healthcare was high on the agenda of discussions.
On September 6, a 30-person delegation from Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein (Einstein) visited Rambam to discuss the future of healthcare and hospital collaborations.
Hospital executives and physicians from Einstein in Sao Paulo, one of Brazil and Latin America’s leading medical centers, visited Rambam on Wednesday, and Rambam was honored to welcome the distinguished group for a conference titled "The Future of Healthcare."
Rambam CEO, Professor Miki Halberthal, and Professor Rafi Beyar, President of Rambam's International Friends Associations welcomed the group. Einstein president, Dr. Sidney Klajner, as well as the president of the Council of Einstein Hospital, Dr. Claudio Lottenberg, led the Brazilian visitors. The delegation was introduced to Rambam’s cutting-edge clinical and research developments from the directors of several major Rambam departments, including Cardiology, Oncology and Neurology. Collaborations with the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology were also presented.
The next day, on Thursday, September 7th, in a historical visit, senior members of the Brazilian Parliament, politicians, leaders, respected members of the Sao Paulo Jewish Federation, and delegates from the Brazilian Confederation also visited Rambam.

Professor Rafi Beyar, Professor Zaher Azzam, director of Rambam’s Division of Internal Medicine, and Dr. Esty Golan, Managing Director of International Relations, welcomed the visitors.
The group of dignitaries included Senator Fabiano Contarato, Orlando Silva, Renata Abreu, Tabata Amaral, Pedro Paulo, Adriana Ventura, Kim Kataguiri, Luisa Canziani, Marcel van Hatten, Muriel Asseraf, Ricardo Birkenstat, and Daniel Bialski, vice president of the Brazilian Confederation.
Both visits featured a tour of Rambam’s Sammy Ofer Fortified Underground Emergency Hospital, where visitors witnessed a simulation of an emergency situation and heard how the need for a fortified underground hospital developed.
These two important visits follow four successful visits to Latin America by Rambam executives.”
