Concern for the safety and well-being of the individuals taken hostage on October 7 has galvanized the people of Israel. As one looks through the list of names, the eyes of each individual hostage holds a world of potential. One such individual is Nili Margalit, a pediatric emergency nurse at Soroka. Margalit was taken hostage from her home in Kibbutz Nir Oz.

On Tuesday, November 14, the nursing staff at Rambam gathered in the hospital’s Cheryl Spencer Auditorium to stand in solidarity with their colleague. The attendees held up ‘kidnapped’ posters prominently featuring Margalit’s smiling face for several minutes in a coordinated effort to show their unwavering support. The posters proclaim in large bold letters, “BRING HER HOME NOW!” The statement is part of a campaign initiated by the Hostages and Missing Families Forum, in cooperation with hospitals nationwide to bring attention and awareness of the urgency for the hostages’ release.

"We stand here this morning, as a sign of solidarity with our colleague Nili Margalit, a nurse at the Soroka Children's Hospital, who is currently being held captive by Hamas, along with babies, children, and elderly," said Gila Hyams, Director of Nursing at Rambam. “Since the beginning of her career as a nurse, Margalit has treated children and infants from all walks of life – Jews, Christians, Muslims – providing care with great devotion to her patients.” Hyams concluded, “We all want to see all the hostages brought home – today – safe and sound. We call on Hamas for their immediate release.”

Rambam joins all those who know and love Margalit in praying for her safe return home soon.
