Rambam Health Care Campus is proud to share that Australian Friends of Rambam and AUSiMED are holding a “Knock Out Ovarian Cancer Appeal” to raise money for research in the fight against ovarian cancer. The online campaign will begin on Wednesday, March 17th. All donations will be matched, and the funds raised through this appeal will help to support an Australia-Israel ovarian cancer research collaboration that is working to develop a new therapy to treat women diagnosed in late stages of ovarian cancer, as well as a 12-month fellowship to help advance translational ovarian cancer research in Israel.

AUSiMED is a not-for-profit organization that facilitates and financially supports medical research collaboration and knowledge transfer between Australia and Israel, as well as national health initiatives in Israel and short trips to Israel for leading Australian academics, clinicians, and medical researchers.

The researchers involved in the collaboration are Rambam’s Dr. Ruth Perets, Director of the Women’s Cancer Laboratory and an attending physician and oncologist in Joseph Fishman Oncology Center, and Associate Professor Ron Firestein, Head of the Cancer Centre at the Hudson Institute of Medical Research and Head of Research for the Hudson Monash Paediatric Precision Medicine Program.
