By coincidence, a military helicopter landed just as Minister of Health Haim Katz was touring Rambam, accompanied by Director General of the Ministry of Health Moshe Bar Siman Tov. The minister and director general, joined by Rambam Director General Dr. Michal Mekel, arrived at the Underground Command Center as the helicopter touched down and observed the evacuation via the center’s control screens, from landing through transfer to the emergency department.

Minister Katz commended the Rambam team, which is currently operating with expanded capacity after integrating services from three northern hospitals, for its preparedness and ability to maintain continuity of care under emergency conditions.

“The system is operating with professionalism and cooperation that enable an effective response even in times of emergency. When we work together, we achieve results,” said Minister Katz. “I thank the medical staff and hospital leadership for their dedication and commitment to patients. We will continue to provide them with the necessary resources to carry out their work effectively.”

Since the beginning of the current conflict, 23 soldiers have been evacuated to Rambam from the northern combat zone, and more than 200 civilians have been treated for war-related injuries.
