The biking event was held to raise awareness and funding for groundbreaking Rambam research dealing with prediction and prevention of Sudden Cardiac Death in children and young adults.

The event was initiated by the Association of the Australian Friends of Rambam in cooperation with the Maccabi Cycling Club as part of the 70th anniversary celebration for the State of Israel and support for the largest hospital in northern Israel. The 50 km ride was led by Ambassador Sofer, who noted his warm connection to Rambam Health Care Campus—two of his grandchildren were born there!

Also participating in the ride was local Australian parliament member Mr. David Southwick and leaders of the Jewish community.

Funds raised during the event will to towards groundbreaking research at Rambam into sudden cardiac death.
