Dr. Iddo Paldor, Deputy Director of Rambam Health Care Campus’s Department of Neurosurgery, was recently appointed secretary-general of the Australian Australasian Society of Neurological Surgeons (AASNS).
The appointment was given following elections that took place at the annual convention of the society, held this year in Mumbai, India. More than 1,500 participants took part in the event, during which Jerusalem was selected as the meeting place for the society’s next conference, to be held in 2022.
The AASNS is the largest continental neurosurgical association in the world. Approximately 60% of the world’s neurosurgeons are members, serving about 60% of the global population.
Dr. Paldor is an expert on brain tumors and interventional radiology. He did an internship in the Department of Neurosurgery at Hadassah Medical Center and has also done internships at Johns Hopkins Medical Center and at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. Dr. Paldor has written dozens of articles and clinical and basic research studies, and has authored many chapters in neurosurgery textbooks. In addition, he lectures in medical schools and engages in clinical and laboratory research about brain tumors.
