How did Northern Israel's largest hospital help COVID-19 patients celebrate Passover? What exactly is Rambam Health Care Campus doing to treat patients? Read on to find out.
Passover in Rambam's COVID-19 Department
How do you prepare the table for the Passover Seder in a hospital department? It used to be simple - table, groceries, flowers, Haggadot, and wine. But when it comes to an isolated COVID-19 department, where every entry requires careful, heavy protection for the staff - things are less straightforward. But at Rambam Health Care Campus, we didn’t give up! Personnel in personal protective equipment brought the necessary equipment and food through the protected entrance. Those hospitalized in good condition sat down at the Seder table and enjoyed a drink with the staff watching them from the control room. That's whatmade this night different from all other nights.
A Glimpse Inside Rambam's COVID-19 Department
Photagrapher Raviv Meyouhas writes, "A hospital is a big and complex organization that employs thousands, and has to make many major adjustments in a matter of few days or weeks: split the ER to corona patients and non-corona patients; build new and special corona departments; write and apply new working procedures; change staff’s shifts; use special equipment and much more. This unique challenge is very intriguing for me as an industrial engineer and a photography enthusiast, and I decided to do a documentary photography project at Rambam Healthcare Campus in Haifa Israel, not far from where I live."
