Medical Teams from Rambam Health Care Campus will be the official health care providers for the 20th Maccabiah games, one of the largest sports events in the world with thousands of Jewish athletes from 80 countries.
Rambam Health Care Campus has been selected to be the sole medical services provider for thousands of Maccabiah participants from July 4-18. In that role, Rambam will be solely responsible for all medical issues for the 4,000+ young athletes competing in the north of Israel. Rambam’s experienced team of physicians, nurses, and sports injury experts will provide onsite medical care for all local sporting events and competitions.
Every four years, the Maccabiah brings Jewish athletes to Israel from the four corners of the world, thereby demonstrating the centrality of the State of Israel in the life of the Jewish people. Haifa was chosen to be one of the two main cities hosting the games. A sports youth village has been established in the south of Haifa just for the event.
"We are proud to be part of such a great event," says Professor Rafi Beyar, Director of Rambam. "The Maccabiah games are a great opportunity for the city of Haifa and we are happy to contribute by making our excellent doctors available to the Maccabiah participants in our region."
