It is my honor and pleasure to once again host the annual 2015 Rambam Summit, where medicine, technology, and humanity intertwine. The vision of creating a world-class medical and research complex in Northern Israel is becoming reality before our eyes.
The Sammy Ofer Fortified Underground Hospital is open and operating in its peacetime configuration as a parking lot—ready for any emergency. The Ruth Rappaport Children's Hospital is now receiving young patients in a modern, spacious, and healing, child and family-centered environment.
The Joseph Fishman Oncology Center will be inaugurated as part of the Rambam Summit events. Patients will enter a warm, supportive, spacious environment for advanced treatments that integrate both holistic approaches and the latest clinical research.
Yet to be completed are a new Cardiovascular Hospital and a Biomedical Discovery Tower.
The Rambam-Haifa Health of Tomorrow Conference, jointly hosted this year with the Municipality of Haifa, is bringing together some of the most influential members of the international scientific community to share with us their insights into the fields of medical research, public health, and the impact of technology on the future of medicine.
On behalf of the Rambam family and Rambam’s Friends Associations, we are proud to bestow the 2015 Rambam Award upon six esteemed individuals: Mr. Shimon Peres, Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks, Mr. Eyal Ofer, Ms. Mariita and Mr. George Feldenkreis, and Professor Mary Claire King. Through leadership, science, or philanthropy, each awardee has translated his or her vision for a better world into reality. Each awardee is leaving his or her mark on history, and is a source of inspiration, worthy of our highest esteem.
