We believe a productive method to support ideation and product development is partnering with the industry. It can be either a strategic player for a designated project or forming a joint venture with another party. For example, we have a successful on-going collaboration with Trendlines Labs and Singer Instruments, providing Rambam's inventors with vast engineering related capabilities. These program have generated several new technologies in our pipeline. Vist the Available Technologies page for more information.
Collaborations with Institutes and Companies Worldwide for Advancing Research and Development
The exclusive comprehensive trauma treatment provider for Northern Israel, Rambam Health Care Campus is also renowned for world-class medicine, basic and applied medical research, mass trauma training, and clinical innovations. At the forefront of medical technology, Rambam’s clinicians and researchers work with engineers and inventors to bring the best medical care to their patients and to develop the next generation of treatments and applications that will benefit people worldwide. The medical center serves as a strategic asset to the north of Israel and its residents, reaching out to the world community through health promotion and medical research discovery.
The Clinical Research Institute at Rambam (CRIR) was established to identify real medical challenges and to search for solutions in adjacent laboratories. As a result of their work, RMT has assembled a unique pipeline of innovative solutions for unmet clinical needs, leading to spin-off projects and rich intellectual property assets.
The cooperation and synergy between Rambam, local academic institutions and industry has created a fertile atmosphere for exceptional clinical research and entrepreneurship which has distinguished the hospital internationally for breakthrough advances in stem-cell research, human population genetics, and hybrid imaging. A sound showcase of this synergy are Israel's first two Nobel Laureates in Chemistry, Professor Aaron Ciechanover and Professor Avram Hershko, whose research was performed in the Technion facilities adjacent to the Rambam Campus.
Rambam also has a long history of fruitful collaboration with industry leaders, including:
- Working with Biosense Webster, Ltd., a Johnson & Johnson Company, to develop the world's leading electrophysiological 3D mapping system for diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias
- Working with GE Global Healthcare to develop dedicated cardiac SPECT/CT as part of the diagnostic process for coronary heart disease
- Working with Given Imaging (acquired by Covidien, now Medtronic) to develop the PillCam™ for diagnosing gastrointestinal diseases
