Dr. Emodi serves as the Director of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He brings extensive expertise in complex oral and craniofacial procedures, with a focus on treating children with craniofacial deformities. His experience includes managing conditions such as cleft lip and palate, Tessier clefts, isolated craniosynostosis, hard tissue abnormalities like craniofacial microsomia, and Pierre Robin sequence with microtia.
Dr. Emodi received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the Academic Center for Dental Medicine at Amsterdam University in 1998. He also holds a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology (Technion).
He completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Rambam in 2008, followed by advanced training in orthognathic surgery and craniofacial deformity correction at the University Hospital in Zurich, Switzerland. In 2011, he completed a prestigious fellowship in pediatric plastic and craniofacial surgery at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, USA, where he also served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of General Surgery.
In 2016, Dr. Emodi was appointed Deputy Director of Rambam’s Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and in 2021, he was appointed Director of the Department’s residency program.
Furthermore, he is a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the Bruce and Ruth Rappaport Faculty of Medicine at the Technion, where he coordinates third-year clinical exposure and mentors fourth-year students. He has received multiple awards for excellence in medical education.
Dr. Emodi is an active member of the Scientific Council for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and serves on the International Advisory Board of the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association. He is also deeply involved in global humanitarian work through Operation Smile, a non-profit organization providing cleft lip and palate surgeries in developing countries. He has participated in numerous international missions and recently leading the surgical team.
