Shahar Shelly, MD is a neurologist and Chair of the Department of Neurology at Rambam Health Care Campus and a faculty member at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. He leads the Neurology AI Laboratory, an interdisciplinary research group focused on developing, validating, and responsibly implementing artificial intelligence models in real-world clinical neurology and cardiovascular care.
His laboratory works at the intersection of clinical medicine, data science, and health systems, with a particular emphasis on foundation models, multimodal data integration, and decision-support tools for acute and chronic neurological disease.
Current projects include AI-driven ECG and neurophysiology models, large-scale clinical data curation, and the deployment of AI systems directly into hospital workflows under regulatory and ethical oversight
