Department of Nephrology and Hypertension

Dr. Lewin is responsible for the hemodialysis services at Rambam Medical Center and the satellite dialysis unit in Kiriat Bialik.
Dr. Lewin emigrated from Sao Paulo, Brazil after finishing his medical studies at the Faculty of Medicine of Sao Paolo University. After a three years residence in the Internal Medicine Department at Shaare Tzedek Hospital, Jerusalem (Internal Specialization), and military service, Dr. Lewin completed his specialization in Nephrology and Hypertension at Rambam Medical Center.
Dr. Lewin developed and headed the peritoneal dialysis service in the hospital. He was also a pioneer in the Pre-Dialysis Clinic at Rambam and continues in this area until today. In addition to clinical nephrology, Dr. Lewin is interested in molecular biology research, and spent three years in this field at the University of Toronto. He is the author of a number of publications in his field.
