The Department of Vascular Surgery and Transplantation at Rambam Health Care Campus is committed to excellence in serving all patients requiring diagnosis and treatment of vascular diseases—including chronic and severe cases, and vascular trauma. In addition the department also performs deceased-donor and living-donor kidney transplantations for end stage renal failure patients. The department to date has performed some 500 kidney transplants.
The department specializes in carotid artery surgery using advanced techniques, stent graft placement for aortic aneurysms (EVAR), bypass surgery for peripheral occlusive disease, below the knee angioplasty, and surgery to install shunts for dialysis, thoracoscopic sympathectomy for hyperhidrosis, and more.
