The department utilizes the most modern and sophisticated anesthesia techniques and monitors. We emphasize the utilization of short term, safe drugs and the wide use of regional techniques. We maintain a high profile of safety, for the benefit of our patients.
The Department of Anesthesiology is academically affiliated to the Rappaport Faculty of Medicine of the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, and is involved in teaching medical students and residents. The department is accredited for residency in anesthesia and pain management. Many of the faculty serve as examiners in the national boards in anesthesiology.
Research in the department includes both clinical research into physiology, monitoring and anesthetic techniques, as well as basic science research into the neuronal mechanisms underlying anesthesia, performed in the Center for Research in Rambam (CRIR) laboratories.
