Professor Yishai Levy is Director of the Internal Medicine “D” Department and the Lipid Disorders Clinic at Rambam Health Care Campus. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the Hebrew University at Hadassah Hospital, Jerusalem, and completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Rambam. Prof. Levy completed fellowships in Lipid Disorders and Metabolism at St Thomas's Hospital in London, and in Clinical Nutrition at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York.
Prof. Levy is a Clinical Associate Professor at the Rappaport Faculty of Medicine of the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology. He studies the effects of antioxidants on coronary risk factors in patients with obesity, diabetes and metabolic syndromes. His intervention studies employ green-tea, carotenoids and vitamin E. He has published more than 100 articles in his fields of interest with emphasis on healthy lifestyle and smart nutrition in all age groups. He is the founder and coordinator of the "Introduction to Clinical Nutrition" course in the Faculty of Medicine. Prof. Levy is the President of the Israeli Society of Research and Prevention of Obesity and Chairman of the Local Committee for Live Donors in Rambam.
