Ruth Rappaport Children's Hospital

Professor Ron Shaul is Director of the Pediatric Gastroenterology, Liver, and Nutrition Institute at the Ruth Rappaport Children’s Hospital, one of the largest of its kind in Israel. He has directed the institute since 2009.

A graduate of the Rappaport Faculty of Medicine at the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, Professor Shaul completed his internship and residency in Pediatrics at Bnai Zion Medical Center. He also completed a clinical fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology & Nutrition at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada.

Professor Shaoul is a Clinical Associate Professor in Pediatrics at the Rappaport Faculty of Medicine. He also actively participates in a wide range of clinical and basic research projects and initiatives. His main research interests are probiotics and prebiotics, different aspects of pediatric inflammatory disease, and pediatric endoscopy.

A member of the European Pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease Working Group, Professor Shaoul has authored more than 150 peer-reviewed articles, and is a reviewer for prestigious journals in the field of pediatrics and gastroenterology.
