Dr. Ilana Schlesinger is a Senior Neurologist specializing in movement disorders and Parkinson's disease. She received her MD from the School of Medicine at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem (1989). Her clinical training was performed in Neurology at Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem and at the Meir Hospital, Sapir Medical Center in Kfar-Saba, after which she completed a specialization in the movement disorders and Parkinson's disease at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts (2001).
Dr. Schlesinger heads the Movement Disorders Institute at Rambam Health Care Campus. In cooperation with Rambam’s Department of Neurosurgery, she founded a center for Focused Ultrasound Treatment of Movement Disorders. Her main research and clinical interests relate to novel treatments for movement disorders.
