Dr. Eli Popa is an Attending Physician in the Department of Anesthesiology at Rambam Health Care Campus.
Dr. Popa completed his medical studies at the Institute of Medicine and Pharmacology in Iasi, Romania, in 1984. In 1986 he immigrated to Israel and began his residency in the Department of Anesthesia at Rambam. He served as a Military Physician in the IDF and since 1996 has been an Attending Physician in the Department of Anesthesiology at Rambam.
In 2004, Dr. Popa completed a fellowship in pediatric cardiac anesthesia at the Mary LaLong Medical Center in Paris, under the direction of Prof. Scharf. Upon his return, he took over responsibility for his field in the operating room and post-operative care. Since 2007 he has served as Director of the Post Anesthesia Care Unit.
Dr. Popa’s fields of interests are complex airway management using advanced methods, ultrasound of the heart and lungs and anesthesia in complicated surgery.
