Department of Anesthesiology

Dr. Boris Livshits is an Attending Physician in the Department of Anesthesiology at Rambam Health Care Campus.

Dr. Livshits graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Kiev, Ukraine, and after specializing in anesthesia, worked as a senior physician at the Hospital for Urgent Assistance in Kiev. He immigrated to Israel in 1990 and in 1993 began a specialization in anesthesiology at Nahariya Hospital. From 2001 to 2005 Dr. Livshits worked in private medicine. He completed a residency in anesthesia at Carmel Medical Center, and received anesthesia Board Certification in 2008.

Dr. Livshits specializes in ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia and is a qualified echo-cardiographer. His main interests are regional anesthesia, the use of ultrasound in the operating room, and post anesthesia treatment. His research areas include changes in intrathoracic pressure during various surgical procedures, and physiology of oxygen.
