Dr. Amos Ofer is Director of the Interventional Radiology Unit in the Department of Medical Imaging at Rambam Health Care Campus. He is a graduate of the Sackler School of Medicine at Tel Aviv University. After completing his radiology residency at Tel Hashomer Medical Center in 1995, Dr. Ofer joined the staff at Rambam in 1996. After one month visiting fellowships at both the Interventional Unit at Thomas Jefferson College in Philadelphia, and the Department of Radiology, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical Center in Boston, Dr. Ofer became the Interventional Radiology Unit Director in 2001.
Dr. Ofer's major interests include endovascular treatments in the thoracoabdominal aorta, advanced oncological procedures such as chemo-embolization of primary liver tumors including hepatocellular carcinoma, and selective internal radiation treatment [SIRT] for liver colorectal metastasis. Dr. Ofer's comprehensive experience in interpretation of vascular imaging using CT angiography as a substitute for invasive catheterization resulted in several publications in peer reviewed medical literature on this topic.
Dr. Ofer has published more than 40 articles in peer reviewed journals, and book chapters, and participated as a lecturer at numerous conferences both in Israel and abroad. Dr. Ofer is a member of the Association of Radiologists in Israel and the European Association of Interventional Radiology.
