Dr. Adel Abusalih is Director of the Abdominal Wall Reconstruction Services in the General Surgery Department and an Attending Surgeon in the Breast Cancer Institute at Rambam Health Care Campus.
Dr. Abusalih graduated from the Rappaport Faculty of Medicine of the Technion in Haifa, and completed a residency in the Surgical Department at Rambam. From 1992-1993, he had a fellowship at the UMDNJ Trauma Center in the United States.
Over the past six years Dr. Abusalih has been responsible for the field of hernia repair and abdominal wall surgery at Rambam, which has become a referral center for complicated hernia repair in Northern Israel.
Dr. Abusalih is an invited lecturer at international and national conferences on hernia repair and mesh fixation. He is the co-founder of the Israeli chapter of the Hernia Repair and Abdominal Wall Surgery Society. His research interests are focused on hernia repair and mesh fixation, and minimizing post-operative pain.
