Dr. Israel Henig is Director of the Bone Marrow Transplantation Unit at Rambam Health Care Campus.
He received his MD from the Ruth & Bruce Rappaport Faculty of Medicine of the Technion–Israel Institute of Technology (2003), and completed residencies in internal medicine and hematology residency – both at Rambam.
During his hematology residency Dr. Henig received an award from the prestigious Futures (Atidim) research program (2009–2010). Dr. Henig continued with a bone marrow transplantation fellowship, also at Rambam, and completed a three-year research fellowship at the University of Michigan under Professor Pavan Reddy, studying the immunobiology of graft-versus-host disease.
Dr. Henig’s main clinical and research interests relate to the treatment of transplant and cellular therapy (CAR-T) patients, transplant complications, and graft-versus-host disease. He is also an active member of the Transplant Complications Working Party of the European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation.
