Department of Neurosurgery

Dr. Eugenia Mahamid is Deputy Director of the Department of General Intensive Care and a senior staff member in the Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit. Dr. Mahamid received her MD degree from Kiev Medical School in Ukraine. She immigrated to Israel in 1980.
Dr. Mahamid is Board Certified in Anesthesiology (1991) and Critical Care Medicine (1996). She has completed a Fellowship in General Intensive Care at Freeman Hospital in Newcastle, England and at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center in the USA. Dr. Mahamid is member of the Clinical Nutrition Committee at Rambam, and a member of the Task Force for Donor Action implantation program of the National Transplantation Institute of the Israel Ministry of Health. Her main areas of interest are energy metabolism and nutrition in the critically ill, and severe brain injury.
