Abeer Abbasi


Abeer is a research assistant at MATRiC, focusing on stem cell-derived bronchial epithelia differentiation, cell culture maintenance, as well as molecular work and biomimetic in-vitro modeling.
Abeer received her M.Sc. (summa cum laude) in Medical Sciences (Neuroscience) from the Technion's Rappaport Faculty of Medicine under the supervision of Prof. Shai Berlin (2021). Her work focused on engineering 2-photon-activated NMDA receptors for controlling learning and memory in vivo. She holds a B.Sc. in biology and medical sciences (double major) from Haifa University (2017). Abeer worked as a research and development scientist at BetaVive LTD, Haifa, Israel (2023) and has gained stem cells work experience as a research assistant in the laboratory of Prof. Lior Gepstein – Laboratory of Cardiac Electrophysiology and Regenerative Medicine at the Technion's Rappaport Faculty of Medicine (2018).
