Department of Cardiac Surgery

Dr. Oved Cohen is Deputy Director of the Cardiac Surgery Department. He graduated from the Rappaport Faculty of Medicine at the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, and trained in Cardiac Surgery at Rambam Health Care Campus. Dr. Cohen completed a two year matched fellowship in heart transplantation and complex heart surgery at UCLA.

Dr. Cohen is a member of the Israeli Cardiothoracic Board Committee and serves as the treasurer of the Israeli Cardiothoracic Surgeon’s Association. His main research and clinical interests are in the fields of bypass surgery, valve repair and replacement, aorta surgery and cardiac tumor surgery. Dr. Cohen is an editorial member of the International Journal of Surgery and Research and a serves as an expert reviewer for the Annals of Thoracic Surgery and the Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery.
