Department of Ophthalmology

Dr. Nir Seider completed his medical studies at the Faculty of Medicine of the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology in 1991, in the academic reserve of the IDF.
He served as a military physician in the IDF and Israeli Navy (1991-96), his last position being the Deputy Surgeon General of the Navy (2000). Dr. Seider finished his residency in ophthalmology at Rambam Medical Center (1996-2003).
After qualifying as an ophthalmologist, he served one year as a clinical fellow at the University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville, Virginia, USA, in Oculoplastic (Eyelid, Lacrimal and Orbital) Surgery.
Dr. Seider joined the Ophthalmology Department and Oculoplastic Unit staff in Rambam Medical Center in 2004.
His main research and clinical interests are functional and cosmetic eyelid surgery; medical and surgical treatment of thyroid orbitopathy; orbital trauma, inflammation and tumors; as well as surgical treatment of the lacrimal drainage system.
