Department of Ophthalmology

Dr. Rina Leibu is a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Bologna, Italy. She completed her post-doctorate studies at the Rappaport Institute for Research in the Medical Sciences, Technion, and a retinal fellowship at the Bristol Eye Hospital, Bristol, England.
Since 1986 she has served as a Senior Physician at the Department of Ophthalmology, Rambam Health Care Campus. In 2000 she was appointed Medical Director of MAR'A – The Institute of Diagnosis of Visual Deficiencies.
Dr. Leibu's main clinical interests lie in the fields of retinal diseases and the electrophysiology of vision. Her main research interests are the effects of exposure to light and laser treatments on retinal function, development of microvascular complications in diabetics, the development of electrodiagnostic tests in ophthalmology and electrophysiological and psychophysical characteristic of various visual syndromes.
