Dr. Nitai Levy graduated from his medical studies at the Technion in Haifa in 2011 and specialized in Pediatrics at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in Hadera. After completing his training, he traveled to the UK for a fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine, which took place during 2015-2017 at the University Hospital of Wales (UHW) in Cardiff. In this framework, he gained wide experience in the treatment of complex medical emergencies as well as the management of multisystem trauma in children. He trained in various fields, including advanced resuscitation, POCUS (Point Of Care Ultra Sound), sedation and treatment of acute pain, performing surgical procedures outside the operating room, identification and treatment of abuse and neglect in children and many more. Following his fellowship, he returned to run the Pediatric Emergency unit at Hillel Yaffe. Since 2021, he has been a senior physician in the Department of Emergency Medicine for Children at Rambam Medical Center.
Dr. Levy has had an academic appointment at the Rappaport Faculty of Medicine at the Technion since 2013, and has co-published several academic papers and conducted clinical trials, including EcLiPSE, which dealt with the immediate treatment of prolonged seizures in children, and its publication has influenced the management of this disorder worldwide.
His activities in the domains of medicine, education and research are diverse and his interests include different approaches to trauma in children, integrating technologies in the treatment of urgent situations, developing models to streamline work in a multi-patient environment and making emergency medicine accessible to the general public. At the same time, Dr. Levy is also involved in guiding and teaching medical and nursing students and is a lecturer in emergency medicine courses.
