Dr. Pavel Kotlarsky, MD, is an attending surgeon in the Pediatric Orthopedic Unit and the Arthroscopy and Sports Surgery Unit at Rambam Health Care Campus. He currently serves as the clinical lead for the pediatric hip and knee surgery service.
Dr. Kotlarsky earned his medical degree from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, graduating Cum Laude in Medical Science. He completed his orthopedic training at Rambam Health Care Campus, where he served as Chief Resident and passed his national board examinations with excellence. To further his expertise, he completed two years of prestigious clinical fellowships in Australia: one in Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery at The Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, and a second in Sports and Knee Surgery at the Melbourne Knee Centre.
Treating patients from infancy to adulthood, Dr. Kotlarsky applies a deep understanding of musculoskeletal development to tailor treatments to each age group. His clinical practice focuses on sports-related injuries and joint preservation, restoring function and delaying joint replacement through both arthroscopic and open procedures of the hip, knee, and ankle. These interventions include ligament reconstruction, meniscal repair, cartilage restoration, labral repair and bone osteotomies for joint reorientation.
In addition to sports surgery, Dr. Kotlarsky is highly skilled in the treatment of orthopedic trauma, general pediatric orthopedic conditions, limb lengthening, and complex deformity correction. He is also a pioneer in the use of in-house 3D printing for surgical planning and the creation of patient-specific surgical jigs.
Dr. Kotlarsky is a Clinical Lecturer at the Technion’s Faculty of Medicine and received the "Best Instructor" award in 2021. He is an active researcher with over 30 peer-reviewed publications and serves as a guest editor and reviewer for several international medical journals.
