Periodic Examinations Institute

Dr. Ophir Avizohar is an Attending Physician, Internist and Cardiologist, and Director of the Periodic Examinations Institute at Rambam Health Care Campus.

Dr. Avizohar graduated from the Rappaport Faculty of Medicine of the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology (cum laude). He completed residencies in internal medicine at Rambam and in cardiology at Soraski Medical Center in Tel Aviv. He also studied at the School of Continuing Medical Education, Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University, and advanced management of health systems at the University of Haifa, Extension Studies Division, and holds a GCP certificate from the University of Haifa.

Dr. Avizohar is a member of the Israeli Heart Association and serves as the chairman of the Israeli Working Group on Cardiovascular Epidemiology and Prevention. Dr. Avizohar is also a member of the Committee for Quality Control of Clinical Research at Rambam Health Care Campus.

Dr. Avizohar's main interests are in preventive cardiology, ischemic heart disease, and atherosclerosis: dyslipidemia, hypertension, diabetes mellitus and obesity.
