Professor Michael Halberthal (Chairperson)

Professor Michael (Miki) Halberthal is the Director General of Rambam Health Care Campus since 2019. He earned his M.D. (1986) from The Ruth & Bruce Rappaport Faculty of Medicine, Technion-Israel Institute of Technology. His postgraduate training was completed at Rambam Health Care campus in Pediatrics and Pediatric Critical Care, with a subspecialty fellowship in Pediatric Cardiac Clinical Care from the world-renowned Brompton & Harefield Institute in London, U.K. Halberthal served for over 30 years in the Israel Defense Forces Airborne Rescue and Evacuation Unit, coordinating international civilian air rescue and transport of emergency care patients. He is also a Clinical Associate Professor in the Technion’s Ruth & Bruce Rappaport Faculty of Medicine.

Professor Rafi Beyar

Professor Rafael (Rafi) Beyar,MD, DSc, MPH, is an interventional cardiologist, former director of Rambam Health Care Campus (HCC), Professor Emeritus of Medicine and Biomedical Engineering at the Technion and former Dean of the Rappaport Faculty of Medicine. Beyar received an MD from Tel Aviv University, DSc in Biomedical Engineering from the Technion, and MPH from the Bloomberg School of Public Health, Johns Hopkins University, with clinical training at Rambam HCC and Johns Hopkins Cardiology. His research focuses on Cardiovascular Imaging, computer modeling, stents and cardiovascular robotics. As the Director General of Rambam HCC, he led construction of the hospital's west campus, including the 2000-bed Sammy Ofer Fortified Underground Energency Hospital, the Ruth Rappaport Children's Hospital, the Joseph Fishman Oncology Center, the Eyal Ofer Heart Hospital and Helmsley Health Discovery Tower. Beyar founded Instent (acquired by Medtronic) and Corindus (Acquired by Siemens Healthineers) , Rambam MedTech (Tech transfer Co) and the MindUp Incubator (Partnership between Rambam, IBM Medtronic Pitango and Impact First funds). He is the recipient of multiple national and international prizes and received the Society of Scholars Medal from Johns Hopkins University. He serves as President, International Friends Associations of Rambam and is General Partner at Alive Health Care Fund. He serves on Rambam MedTech and several other boards.

Ms. Tzipi Ozer-Armon

Ms. Tzipi Ozer-Armon is the CEO of Lumenis Ltd. Before joining Lumenis, Ms. Ozer-Armon headed the Japanese market activities of Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. and served as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at SanDisk. Previously, she also served as VP & General Manager at MSystems. In addition to ICL, Ms. Ozer-Armon is a board director at Itamar Medical Ltd., Rambam MedTech, Israel’s National Technological Innovation Authority’s Commission and Tel Aviv University. Ms. Ozer-Armon holds a BA magna cum laude in Economics and an MBA majoring in Finance and Marketing from Tel Aviv University and she is an AMP graduate of the Harvard Business School.

Dr. Ronit Segal-Hirshberg

Dr. Ronit Hirschberg is the CEO of Rambam Health Corporation and Director of the Division of Marketing & Business Development at Rambam Health Care Campus. She has been serving in key executive roles at Rambam for the past 27 years. Dr. Hirshberg's Ph.D. focused on international marketing of life science companies through Haifa University’s School of Management.

Mr. Ziv Sharon

Mr. Ziv Sharon is the Director of Finance at Rambam Health Care Campus.

Dr. Amir Belson

Dr. Amir Belson, M.D., is the founder of multiple medical device companies, including Neoguide Systems, Vascular Pathway, Zipline Medical, Qool Therepeutics, Radiaction Medical, Embolibe, Modular Surgical, and PAFA. Several of these companies have been acquired by major players in the medical device industry, including C.R. Bard and Stryker. Dr. Belson serves on the Board of Directors for Rambam MedTech Ltd., Plantera Lab, Relimetrics, and QT Vascular. A cum laude graduate of The Ruth & Bruce Rappaport Faculty of Medicine, Technion–Israel Institute of Technology, in Haifa, Israel, Belson completed a pediatric residency at Dana Children’s Hospital in Tel Aviv and a pediatric nephrology fellowship at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford University, California, USA. In addition, he spent one year as a research fellow with the Bio-Design Innovation Program at Stanford. Belson is the author of 34 medical papers and abstracts and has more than 500 issued and pending patents to his credit.

Dr. Eli Opper

Dr. Eli Opper serves as a strategic advisor on policy in the areas of technology, R&D, investments, and innovation for companies and organizations. He is Chairman and board member of several High-Tech startups, and Chairman of Club 100 of the Technion Alumni Organization. Formerly, Dr. Opper served as Chairman of Eureka, a 40 state-member R&D organization, and as Chief Scientist of the Ministry of Industry Trade and Labor in Israel.

Professor Yehuda Chowers

Professor Yehuda Chowers is the director of the Division of Research and the Gastroenterology Institute at Rambam Health Care Campus, and a professor in the Ruth & Bruce Rappaport Faculty of Medicine of the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology. He earned his B.A. and M.D. in Medicine from Ben-Gurion University, and conducted his postdoctoral fellowship in the Laboratory of Mucosal Immunology at the University of California at San Diego. Honors received by Professor Chowers include the American Gastroenterology Association Advanced AGA Research Training Award. He is also a two-time winner of the Chaim Sheba Medical Center’s Award for Excellence in Research. He has co-authored more than 160 papers in professional journals including basic research, clinical research articles, guidelines, case reports, and review papers.

Dr. Kobi Vortman

Dr. Kobi Vortman, is the founder of Insightec (1999). A past CEO and Chief Technology Officer, he currently serves as Vice Chairman of their board. Under his leadership, InSightec developed and marketed its magnetic resonance guided focused ultrasound (MRgFUS) technology and received the CE mark and FDA PMA approval for its technology, resulting in revenues of millions of dollars. Prior to founding InSightec, Dr. Vortman served as President of Elbit Medical Imaging, which, together with GE Healthcare (formerly GE Medical Systems), formed InSightec and remains a major shareholder of the company. Before joining Elbit, Dr. Vortman worked at RAFAEL, holding many positions, including marketing, business development, operations, and engineering roles.

Dr. Eli Frydman

Dr. Eli Frydman is the Chief Business Officer of Shizim Innovation Center. A seasoned healthcare executive with over 20 years diverse investment and operational experience, he was the Managing Director of Aurum Ventures, a healthcare-focused venture capital, and is serving on numerous medical device and digital health portfolio company boards. Pas experience includes Chief Business Officer at FutuRx, a Johnson & Johnson, Takeda and Orbimed incubator; COO at Aposense; and Senior Business Development Manager at GE Healthcare, doing M&As in Europe.

Mr. Guido Pardo-Roques

Mr. Guido Pardo-Roques, is the past president and CEO of Philips Electronics in Israel, Israel and General Manager of Philips Medical System Technologies which constitutes the Israel Commercial and Industrial branches of the multinational corporation Royal Philips Electronics. He is also Chairman of the Medical Equipment forum, Board Member of IAESI (Israel Association of Electronics and Software Industries), board member of IATI (Israel Advanced Technology Industries), and member of the Technion Board of Governors.

Mr. Ziv Ofek

Mr. Ziv Ofek is a serial entrepreneur and leader in Israel's e-Health sector. The founder and current CEO of MDClone, a groundbreaking environment for data-driven healthcare exploration, discovery and delivery, he is also the founder and past Chief Innovation Officer of dbMotion, which was sold in 2013 to Allscripts for $235M. Mr. Ofek is the originator of the dbMotion concept for clinical integration and semantic interoperability. With over twenty years of experience in the field of medical informatics, Mr. Ofek’s inventions are used in thousands of hospitals and clinics around the world.

Dr. Dan Vilenski

Mr. Dan Vilenski is a seasoned leader in Israel's Hi-tech industry. Mr. Vilenski currently serves as a board member at Medasense Biometrics Ltd, the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, and the Israeli National Nanotechnology Initiative, in addition to several other Israeli high-tech companies. Mr. Vilenski is the former Chairman of Applied Materials Israel, former Executive Director of the Israel – US joint Bi-national Industrial Research and Development (BIRD) Foundation, former General Manager of KLA Instruments in Israel, and past VP of Kulicke and Soffa (K&S). He was responsible for the successful integration in Israel of the independent subsidiaries for leading American high tech companies: K&S, KLA Instruments and Applied Materials.

Mr. Ron Levkovich

Mr. Ron Levkovich is a veteran capital markets executive and entrepreneur with over thirty years of experience and successful track record. During his 23-year tenure as Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Epsilon Investment House, Mr. Levkovich led the expansion of the firm, developing it into one of Israel's leading investment firms (NIS 7+ BN in assets under management). At Epsilon, he expanded the firm’s offerings to include traditional asset management, mutual funds, provident funds, and investment banking services. The firm's clients included Israel’s leading financial institutions and notable investors. During his career at Epsilon and prior experience at Bank Leumi, he gained intimate knowledge of the Israeli market and its leaders, as well as, a vast network of relations.

Dr. Yoav Medan

Dr. Yoav Medan is an Inventor, serial entrepreneur, and visiting professor and lecturer in the Technion faculties of electrical and biomedical engineering. Currently serving as CTO and Co-Founder at NiNiSpeech, he is the former VP and Chief Systems Architect of InSightec Ltd., where he led development of their MRI-guided focused ultrasound technology. Before joining InSightec, Dr. Medan spent 17 years in research and management at the IBM Research Division and was elected to the IBM Academy of Technology. Dr. Medan serves as a mentor of young entrepreneurs as part of the Technion Alumni "Technion for Life" program and Israel Brain Technologies.
